Raven W Breathtaking visuals and amazing story that retains the attention of the audience in a compelling and creative way. It's a beautiful movie on family dynamics following loss and siblings overcoming adversity and quarrels together. Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/26/24 Full Review Jay W There is so much to love about this film. I love the animation. It's the finest 2D animation made in the last 25 years. Cartoon Saloon has a love of old-fashioned animation and shows everyone just how breathtaking basic shapes can be. They are deceptively simple shapes but make for such pleasing appearance once its in motion. The story is dark and has just the right level of creepiness for an animated film that kids will watch and remember. The villain, "the owl witch", has such a fascinating motivation, and surprisingly deep implications. The movie is gripping, suspenseful and has a palpable feeling of dread. It can also be very sweet at times. The main character, Ben, can be a bit bratty at times, which can make him hard to root for. But I do understand that kids do act that way. And I do get where he is coming from.If you don't believe how good it is, come and sea. Rated 4/5 Stars • Rated 4 out of 5 stars 11/21/24 Full Review Gail M An animation that is both capturing, and dreamlike poetic. Beautiful artistic storytelling. We love this movie in our home, and the soundtrack has been on repeat for years at bedtime with my youngest.
